About me

Dr. KAMATCHI, A. Professor (Retd), CAS in Linguistics, Annamalai University.

I was born at a village of Sithargal Natham, Nilakottai (Taluk) in Dindigul district of Tamilnadu, India.  I, after completing my schooling in and around Nilakottai, studied Pre Degree Course at Thiagarajar College, Madurai.  I took Bachelor Degree (Tamil Literature) at Yadava College, Madurai and Master Degree in the Department of Linguistics, Madurai Kamaraj University.  After doing M.Phil. in Linguistics in the Department of Linguistics, University of Kerala, I took Ph.D. (in Linguistics) in the same Department on the topic “Temporels in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu”, under the guidance of Prof. Andrewskutty.   Now I was working as Professor in CAS in Linguistics,  Annamalai University and retired from the post in 2017.
